A story in photographs

The original club history copy, framed by the photographs that show where the story began.

Lombard Swim Club was founded in 1961 by a group of Lombard families who wanted a safe, welcoming place for their children to swim and grow. What began as a modest pool with a handful of members has grown into one of DuPage County's most beloved private swim clubs.

Early Years

The original pool was constructed on Club Drive with volunteer labor from founding families. The first season saw 42 member families and a simple snack bar operated by rotating parent volunteers.

Growth Through the Decades

Through the 1960s and 70s, LSC expanded its facilities, added a competitive swim team, and established the certificate holder program to honor long-standing members. The 1980s brought renovations to the pool deck and the addition of a permanent snack bar structure.

Today

Lombard Swim Club now serves hundreds of member families each season. The club remains member-governed through an elected Board of Directors, honoring the spirit of community that founded it nearly 70 years ago.
